WHAT IS A NOMINATION
Award Nomination is a fantastic way of putting an individual or a firm in the spotlight, which may honour the inspiring achievements of individuals and firms you know across all segments of accountancy. Showcasing excellence and achievement is a vital tool in the ongoing effort to establish equality across all parts of the industry and in all roles. Nominations are one of the ways to ensure that the best and the brightest receive recognition for all the hard work, enthusiasm, and diligence they have put into their businesses. This recognition extends not only from you, your company, your colleagues, and clients, but also from the entire region.
WHEN IS THE NOMINATION OPEN?
Nominations are officially opening on 22nd May 2025 along with Pre-launch of the event. But all our award night nominations are unofficially opened six months prior to the award ceremony.
HOW TO SUBMIT NOMINATIONS
Making a nomination is very straightforward and is designed to be targeted and not overly time-consuming. You simply need to complete the online form for the relevant category, and this will be submitted automatically to us once completed. Entries can only be accepted via the entry form. Fill out all of the required information, and ensure you choose the correct category from the list. Criteria for each award can be viewed on the categories page. Please note that nominations can only be accepted for one category per individual. Each category has a list of criteria that should be referred to in your nomination. You can select multiple categories in one nomination.
WHO CAN NOMINATE?
Nominations can be made by the prospective nominee themselves, by a third party, or by the event organisers. Practices, employers, institutes, clients, suppliers, and colleagues who have had positive contact with the accounting profession are encouraged to make nominations to ensure the fullest range of candidates is put forward. Accountancy professionals who meet the criteria for a category can also make their own entry. Entries are open to all individuals, teams, and firms from all industry sectors operating within the region.

CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE ENTRY FORM?
Yes you can submit your entries for as many categories as you want, but You can only submit one entry form for a company in one category.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I ENTER?
You will receive an email to confirm that your entry has been submitted. If you do not receive this please contact us. You will then be informed if your company is selected as one of the Ones To Watch.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE Accounting Excellence Awards?
Entries for the Accounting Excellence Awards 2025 open on 4th October 2025, however, you can register your details for the 2025 Awards online now. You need to have an account in order to enter the Award. Once you have registered your details, you will be able to log into your personal profile page. This provides secure access to all the information you will need to submit an entry when the entries open.
WHICH CATEGORY SHOULD I ENTER?
Think carefully about your business. Is there a specific area of business you feel your company has excelled in over the last 12 months? Is there a person or project which stands out from your other parts of the business? Or has the whole business delivered excellent growth?
Once you have done that, see the full list of categories and how to apply. You can opt in to enter more than one category. At any point, if you feel that the category is not for you, then you can opt out immediately.

WHEN IS THE ENTRY DEADLINE?
Entry for the Accounting Excellence Awards 2025 opens on 22nd May 2025 and closes on 10th Jul 2025.
WHAT DO I GET IF I WIN?
You will be awarded with the title of the category you have entered and will be entitled to use the title in all your own communications and marketing activity for the period of 12 months after the awards.
You will also receive a special trophy to mark the occasion which will be handed over to you at the awards ceremony.
Winners will also be featured in any post awards media coverage provided by our Communications Partner.

HOW DO YOU SELECT THE JUDGES?
Judges are invited to participate in the competition based on their experience, business acumen and expertise.
CAN I QUERY THE FINDINGS OF THE JUDGES?
The judge's decisions are final.
CAN I UPLOAD ANY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS?
There is no need to upload supporting documents if Judges need more information they will ask us to contact you directly.
CAN WE GET FEEDBACK IF WE HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL?
You can view the list of successful candidates at each stage on the website. We can also provide some feedback from the Chairman of the Judges; you would need to contact the team directly to request this.
I DO NOT WANT TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL INFORMATION, CAN MY COMPANY STILL ENTER?
This depends on the category you wish to enter. If the chosen category requires financial information, then you cannot submit an entry form without financial details. To complete your entry for such categories, you will need to fill out the financial section to demonstrate your business success to the judges. This information is treated as confidential. No information will be published or used publicly. All our judges sign confidentiality agreements.
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON COMMERCIAL CONFIDENCE?
All information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence and will only be viewed by The Accounting Excellence Awards and its sponsors, the judging panel, and the Chair of Judges. We have strict confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements internally and with our sponsors to ensure all information is treated in complete confidence and not shared outside of the Accounting Excellence Awards. Information for marketing collateral and brochures for the Awards will be requested separately and agreed upon by you.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE 2025 GALA AWARDS CEREMONY BE HELD?
The Gala Awards Ceremony will be held in a Douglas 18th September 2025. The location is TBC after the coronavirus period is over. Its coronavirus did not end by 10th Sep 2025, then the award ceremony will be done using a virtual platform.
WHEN IS THE PUBLIC VIDEO VOTE STAGE?
After the Ones to Watch list has been announced, we will invite the listed companies to create and submit their video for the opportunity to compete in our Public Vote. Dates to be confirmed.
WHAT IS THE PUBLIC VIDEO VOTE STAGE?
You are given instructions and have the opportunity to upload a video about your business. This will be shown on the homepage of the AEA website, and you can promote your video link and your Ones To Watch status on social media, in the press, and with your customers and stakeholders. It is a great way to publicise what you are doing and try to garner the most votes to win the European Public Winner title!
WHY SHOULD I ENTER THIS EXTRA COMPETITION?
The Accounting Excellence Awards encourage companies on the Ones to Watch list to enter the public voting stage as there are a multitude of benefits. Taking part in the Video vote is not only an amazing way to amplify and reinforce your endorsement by the AEA, but also a fantastic way to engage with your community and provides great content for your social media.
DO I HAVE TO COMPETE IN THE PUBLIC VIDEO VOTE STAGE?
The Public Video Vote is a completely separate competition to the other stages of the Accounting Excellence Awards and is not compulsory. You do not have to take part, and whether or not you submit a video in this competition, it will not affect your progress in the main Accounting Excellence Awards competition. However, we highly recommend that you participate in both, as this is a fantastic opportunity to promote your business and generates a significant amount of PR for you.
WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING A VIDEO ENTRY AND WHEN WILL THEY BE AVAILABLE TO VOTE FOR?
After the Ones to Watch have been announced, they will be invited to submit a video entry. Dates TBC.
IF WE SUBMIT A VIDEO ENTRY, WHEN WILL WE FIND OUT IF WE HAVE BECOME THE EUROPEAN PUBLIC WINNER?
The company with the highest number of votes in the Public Video Vote will be announced as the Accounting Excellence Public Winner at the Gala Ceremony.
DO I HAVE TO BRING A BANNER TO THE FACE TO FACE JUDGING SESSION?
To assist the Judges and other companies in learning about your business, we ask each company to prepare a National Winner Banner. This banner displays key facts about what your business does and your successes. We have provided a free template for companies to use in creating their banner. Alternatively, we can create the banner for you. You can place an order for this via the events page. If you order your banner through us, it will be ready at your judging stand upon your arrival, saving you the hassle of travelling with it and organizing its setup at your stand.
Please ensure that any items you bring with you are promptly taken away after your judging session, as we need to quickly rearrange the room. Companies are solely responsible for any possessions they bring to the event.
CAN I BRING A LAPTOP OR POWER POINT PRESENTATION TO THE FACE TO FACE JUDGING?
Yes, you may bring a laptop with you to provide visual aids to the judges if you wish. Please ensure your laptop is fully charged, as you will not have access to a power socket at your stand. Please ensure that any items you bring with you are promptly taken away after your judging session, as we need to quickly rearrange the room. Companies must take sole responsibility for any possessions they bring to the event.
Can I enter if I am a not-for-profit organisation?
While judges consider profit and loss sheets as a measure of corporate success, there is no reason why a not-for-profit organisation should not enter the Accounting Excellence Awards. Remember, our judges aim to reward innovation, excellence, and strong ethics. These three pillars of good business are equally relevant in the not-for-profit sector.
